Gardening
She was waiting to go out when I got up and spent most of the day sunbathing on the roof.
I did get a bit of an outing. I went to the works for some index cards to make a matching game for my newest violin tutee and for some new work trousers (mine fell to bits on Friday after losing a fight with some sharp thing in my bike... Then the split entirely from my left knee most of the way to my right... It's a good thing I have a long coat!).
I also had coffee and cake at heelis, so it's national trust coffee and cake!
No complaints.
When I got back I thought it would be a shame to stay indoors so I did some work in the garden.
I cut the trees back (I know it's the wrong time of year, but I desperately want to discourage birds from nesting in the garden. Marley is an awful hunter, but I don't want to hand her baby birds on a plate).
I cut the trees with a saw! It was such hard work.
I dug the compost out of the bin and put it in the flower beds.
Fingers crossed itlli kick start our plants growing back!
Marley was not a fan of the compost.

Tyntesfield house
It was interesting, and more of the rooms are open now too!
We didn't quite outrun the rain though.
Welsh castles
On Saturday we visited Tredegar house, castel coch and Caerphilly castle.
Castell coch is my favourite place to visit! It's so crazy and I love the birds and stars ceiling.
After adventures we went to stay with Jay. We had the 'barry special' from the Chinese which was.. interesting..
And we watched the live action jungle book film (which apparently came out ages ago??) And the new Jurassic park.

Twigs snowdrop festival
We had been meaning to visit twigs for ages as it's a really great initiative. We got our chance at the weekend when they opened to the public to show their impressive snowdrop collection.
New running shoes
But, in seriousness they're much better than my old trainers.
Glastonbury
ney which has a huge castle.

Life update? I guess?
The knock on effect of this is that I can't update my blog with photos unless they're on Instagram. Long story short, I was using an app to update my blog. Then I updated my phone and now I can only update my blog through the official blogger website. Definitely not so great on my phone!
ðŸ˜
It's so frustrating I genuinely am only bothering to update it because it's been going soooo long.
Ok, grumpy moment over.
On Monday I went to Oxford for an appointment and to visit sta travel to try and make a bit if progress with mine and Emma's NZ trip for Becca's wedding.
Exciting times!
I discovered a new Korean cafe on ST Clements too called Rachel's. Very yummy.
On Tuesday I was working in Oxford again too.
Wednesday was an early start and working in London. I had hoped for an early night on Wednesday night and a lie in on Thursday.
Sadly Marley had other ideas.
She really gets spooked by windy weather and won't go outside if it's a bit breezy. Last night we caught the tail end of a hurricane. Marley was inconsolable from 1am until about 4.30am.
She kept crying and fussing and trying to keep an eye on the weather. In the end traffs went to sleep in the spare room as he was working and I built marley a Duvet nest and tried to cheer her up. Today I have baggy eyes and a headache for my troubles!

New wet suit
It doesn't have a zip! I had to look up on the internet how to put it on!
I'm very excited as it's green and neon pink- a perfect colour match for the board and leash.
(Also, check out the orange kitchen cameo!)

Paddle boarding
and I went paddle boarding at Cheese wharf, letchlade again
The forecast had predicted 32kph windspeeds for today, as the UK is being battered by high winds and even some snow. We decided to stay close to home incase we had to abandon our adventure for poor weather- which we did after about an hour.
Such a workout!
But blue skies and it's blown the cobwebs off!
And now the kitchen is...
Traff has been poorly all week and is finally feeling better, but not well enough to go paddle boarding.
We came home to an orange kitchen. And I have to say it looks awesome.
So much more light.

Paddle boarding from Cheese wharf, Letchlade
Unfortunately, Traff ended up sick, so he stayed at home. In bed. And watched TV.
Tracey and I thought it was a bit too cold to be ending up in the Avon so we went to letchlade for a shorter paddle adventure.
We ended up meeting - totally out of good luck- the group organizer of the SUP Stroud group. So we paddled out with them for a bit until they got out at the lock. They did invite us to go with them but we declined as our feet were already numb!
We did 4k on the Thames so we're happy with that- next weekend we're going to be brave and climb out around the lock too!
New adventure!
When we got out my board ended up really muddy. I tried to clean it my dunking my towel in the river but ended up dropping it in. Tracey and I had to use one paddle each and pick it out of the water.
Like a crazy crystal maze challenge!!
Tracey made us Moroccan chicken and couscous for lunch using spices she brought back from Marrakech. So good.
Followed by lava cakes and copious cups of tea!
It took so long to warm up.
I'm definitely wearing my wetsuit next time, even if I have to drive home in it afterwards.

Trist & Emma came to visit
I missed out on meeting with my uni friends on Sunday, so Emma came to see me on Monday night.
We made an enormous lasagna and listened to obscure music on Spotify.
We tried halo top ice cream and had gin... Guaranteeing a good night's sleep!
I had enough hours accrued from my northern adventure to be able to take Tuesday off!
Emma, Traff & I went to freedom trampoline park, then we made the most amazing tapas for lunch! Bread, olives, salad, manchago cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and couscous.
Followed with chocolate covered waffles from lidl.
So. Full.
We drove up to devises to see the view but it was super foggy so we walked around old town gardens.
Then we listened to more music and drank a ton of tea before trist arrived.
We went with him to spoons for apple crumble and custard. 😁 Best Tuesday ever!
