London- Regents canal walk, Camden lunch, the sunset express & Pullman dining & the guards museum

This is a very looong story. My Nan sent my Aunt a newspaper cutting in February about a steam train doing a round trip from London Waterloo to the Surrey hills and back again.
My aunt took the hint and sent my Nan the birthday money for a ticket.
Apparently she missed the bigger hint that was that she would like someone to go with. So my Nan complained to my Mum, and somehow it was arranged that instead of taking her away to the seaside we would stay overnight in London and go on the train.
My mum Booked the tickets through their website which isn't all that user friendly. And complained afterwards that my aunt hadn't sent enough money for my Nan to buy a ticket.
It turns out that rather than a standard ticket she'd managed to book Pullman dining.

So we went up to London before the train trip and knowing we'd be sat down on another train took the opportunity for a walk along the canal from kitty Venice behind Paddington station to Camden.
We got lunch in Camden and ate in the park by the overground line.

We met my Nan at the hotel and then dressed for dinner.
The train was very impressive. The food was very "weddings" it was really nice but definitely catered to those over a certain age...

The views were really impressive. I'm pleased we took the trip but I was almost nodding off by the time we got back!

The next day we went to see my Grandad's medals in the guards museum and visit the guards chapel.
The weather wasn't on our side and we all ended up heading home earlier than planned!
