Walking to Cotewater park

Tats and I walked 14 miles today.
My feet are ded.
We walked to old town, found a cache then town gardens, looked for a missing cache, then walked along the old railway line to lake park.
After that we followed signs to cote water and walked all around the park. We also found another cache.

We got the bus back, and bought bacon stir fry bits and infamous polish shop 'sponges' for pudding.
We ate so much food. Although it was well earned. We did more than 30,000 steps.

Now for an evening of Natsume.

Geocaching with Ray and Tats

Tats arrived yesterday for her minibreak in glorious wiltshire.
We mooched around in the afternoon- once we'd collected the bike from the repair place for future adventures- and once Ray came home we made dinner plans.
Ray found a 40% off voucher for prezzos online, so we made our decision.
We walked a super long route to the restaurant in order to find a few caches. We found 4 on the way to dinner!
They were all pretty tiny, especially the green one. The brick one was my first experience of a 'plain sight' cache. It's awesome!
Genuinely if we hadn't known it was there we'd never have found it!

The Isle of Wight- day 2

Today has been another busy one.

We started off early and made it to Osbourne house for opening.
We walked down to the beach where we saw a tanker headed for Portsmouth. They must be really constrained by the tides as it was pretty close to the island. We had coffee and cake and then we walked the grounds and gardens. Saw the swiss cottage and the museum.

Rain was forecast for one so we went into the house to avoid the weather.

The house was really pretty and it was really quiet. So very enjoyable.

After the house we went to the Castle, we walked on the wall and saw the views, including the pepper pot which is a lighthouse and was built too far from the sea.

Photos

These photos were in Osborne House they show the princes and princesses putting on a show/play I like them because they are unusual.
Enjoy.

Wild orchids!

The Isle of Wight- day 1

Today we explored Ride and Shanklin.
We have a hotel in Ride, selected by our Nan. So far it's pretty comfortable but very noisy from the main road.

In Ride, we explored the sea front and had lunch at the pavillion.
After that we walked along the sea front.

We then took a train to shanklin (super retro old London underground trains) where we walked around shanklin chine then back to the hotel along the sea front.

We had chips for tea too!
Well earned after walking 20,000 steps- 8.2 miles!

Ferry to the IoW

Ray drove to the Isle of Wight, which entailed a ferry crossing.
We were worried about the bank holiday traffic so ended up leaving really early.
We then encountered no traffic at all and arrived 2 hours early.
Thankfully we managed to get an earlier ferry. They loaded all the booked cars and said over the radio that they could fit 'just one more car'. They really were not kidding.

Watermelon

I had a rough, gruelling day at work so Traff bought me a melon.
