Lazy bank holiday Monday

Today has been both lazy and brilliant.

We went to a Sunday night BBQ with the wrestling guys in Bedfordshire (hence the paddle boarding) yesterday so we had planned to have a lie in as we drove back late.

Marley had other ideas.
She came in at about 6am and slept on my front with her front legs stretched out hugging my neck. I didn't get so much sleep after that as she flexes her claws and twitches in her sleep... she decided at 7'30 to climb all over us to wake us up. Usually she's really good so we'll let her off this one.

Ray and I did chores in the morning and went shopping in the afternoon.
It was so hot though, it was not a good day for trying on clothes!

Traff and I spent late afternoon into evening mooching around in the garden with Marley.
I made tapas for dinner.
Nothing epic, but just a nice, chilled out day.
Well, chilled out except Marley getting stuck up a tree again.

Punting in Oxford

Today Ray, Sophie, Kirstie, Phil & I went punting on the cherwell in Oxford & had a picnic in the botanical gardens.

For once, the bank holiday weather held out for us!!

Ray's Birthday in Gloucester

Ray and I headed to Gloucester to have lunch with Andy at Kascpers dessert bar.
I had an ice cream sundae and regretted it.
I has food envy.
Ray had hot cookie dough and it's definitely the best thing on their menu!

We had bubble tea too!

After lunch we hit up TK maxx and had a mooch about.
Sadly this was bitter sweet as Ray was called by the estate agent to tell her someone offered the full asking on the flat she wanted to buy.

She'll be living here a while longer.

We came back and hung around in the garden. Marley got on the roof again. We had take away pizza for dinner at it made everything a bit better.

So far, this has been a simple project.

It's a 'do it at home' from the makery and in 3 hours we're at the blanket stitch stage so i'll call that a win!

Emma gave me her cat Lucky's old cat tree.
It's 6 ft tall.
It's epic!
Marley loves me already but it was a bit of a nightmare to build as the instructions were in german. Marley came in periodically to check on progress.

Liverpool day 2

Jay arrived at 8am.
We had a lazy morning then headed out to the parks and penny lane.
We got lunch at a bakery on penny lane and it was awesome!

After allll the parks we headed to toxteth and bought baklava.
We also got coffee and went to the ethnic supermarket. We didn't buy anything but they had sheeps heads in the butcher's.

Then we went to Adam and eve's turkish baths, also in toxteth.
It was awesome!
I hope to go again.
We were there for 2 hours and I do feel very clean and relaxed.

After the baths we went back to the flat, watched totoro and emma made the most epic tapas.

Liverpool day 1

Yaayy!!
Emma and I cycled to the baltic market and perused the vintage shops.
Then we went to the chinese supermarket, then china town then bento for dinner.
After, we went to a bar with a record shop and turn table booths and then to the Caledonian.
Then it rained.
Torrentially.
We had to cycle back and were soaked! Tea and tv in our PJs before bed.

Jay arrives at 8am tomorrow... we were supposed to have an early night... ah well, it's only midnight!
