Madrid Day 5

Today we did the second part of the bust tour to the Real Madrid stadium & did the stadium tour- for 20 euros it was very good value as it took almost  3 hours and we got to sit in the dugout!

After the tour we went back to Seville and had lunch at Gino's Restaurant.

Then we all went to do our own things- Traff's parents wemnt to the waxworks museum, my parents went to an art gallery and Traff and I went to see the egyptian temple of Debod, which was moved from Egypt to spain to prevent it's destruction by the building of a new reservoir.
It was pretty impressive actually.

As were the views.

On the way back we visited the crypt under the cathedral which was awesome!
We then met our respective parents in Sol.

Madrid Day 4

Today we introduced our parents to one another.
We met in Sol square then did the Madrid bus tour.

After the tour traff's mum headed back as age was feeling unwell but I took my parents to the Portuguese cafe.

Then we visited Plaza de Espana

and walked down the road to the Jardine sabine

After that we went to Palazzo real and art museum, We had to queue for 40 minutes to get in, but after 4pm EU citizens with valid ID get free entry to the place and art museum, the usual entrance fee varies from 13-23 Euros.
A bargin!

We met back up with traff and his parents for dinner in seville- I had paella noodles!
:D

Madrid Day 3

Today we got up early.  Very early.  6.30am. So we had loads of mooching about time.
More Nutella on bread for breakfast.  Traff had cheesecake and I refused.  Thinking about it afterwards it was probably the healthy option!
We took the train out if Madrid to a town on the suburbs.  Cuatro ventos has an aviation and astrological museum.
The museum was pretty impressive- especially for the 3 euro entry.  We took our time looking round and making the most of the weather.

By the time we headed back to towin it was gone 2pm so we were all super hungry.  We got of at plaza espana (which turned out to the the trendy theatre district- like a west end/brick lane hybrid).
We got Chinese food for lunch and by then I was so hungry I ordered enough dimsum to feed a small family.
Sooo gooood!

We got back about 4pm and had a cuppa.
Later in the evening traff and I ventured back out to go to carrefore for more fraggolino and snacks.
The mission this evening is to make the microwave combi oven cook a pizza.
We shall see how that turns out. ..

Madrid Day 2

Today I started the day with nutela on bread and a doughnut.
Calories don't count on holiday,  right?
After eating everything went to retaro park. We get the metro from goya to retaro which was traff's parents first ever metro ride!
The park was beautiful.

On the way back we stopped off at a market and I got a new leather back pack for 32 euros. It was a guilty purchase but I will definitely get plenty of use out of it!
We nipped into el court ingles department store which is a bit like the Spanish version of harrods.
Then to media mart to buy traff's dad a tablet. He's addicted to the 'word brain' game!
We also got gis new camera working so he looks super tech savy.
He found me a starlight filter for my film slr too so I will have to get my lazy arse out with a tripod once the xmas lights are up!
After lunch (ciabatta and gouda and real butter and cheesecake!) We headed out again to sol amd mooched around the square and the little independent clothes shops.
We walked to opera and had a gin in the square outside the opera house.

The cheapest opea ticket is 80 euros. The most expensive was 400 euro.  Mental.
We got the metro back and I had churros from the yellow shop in the square behind the apartment.
