more dress shopping...

I have caused myself an issue now! I remembered this morning that I needed to buy Hedna's nightclub tickets before the end of the month- which then reminded me that if I wanted to do that for my birthday, my friends would need to but them too- cue hastily written facebook event and massive flurry of activity.

so far there will be four of us.

but, Hednas is a vintage nightclub- 1920s- 1950s so now we all need proper vintage dresses, seamed stockings, evening gloves and handbags so that we can dance away to the vintage tunes!
woop woop.
bring on the 1940s!

This is a new level of organisation, as my birthday is in october, but I am now looking for a dress- these are my finds so far... what do you think?
I REALLY wanted a 30s or 40s dress but they're very rare and delicate and therefore extremely expensive..not the thing for drinking in.

Vintage 1950s green and gold wiggle dress - 16
this one is dark green and gold :D I likes it.

Sailor dress!
Picture of Blue brush stroke 1940s swing dress
this one is properly 40s- I love the print, but I'm not sure its enough of an evening dress... may purchase it anyway..

1940s clothing >dresses 40s Leslie Fey Linen Day Dress (UK12)

I love this! lipstick red! oooh sailor! again, 1940s and its linen so it'll be easy to care for.. however, it may be a bit of a small size.. apparently people in the 40s were all flat chested.

Red Lace Vintage Prom Dress 16

this is a bit too 50s.. a bit too red and maybe a bit too warm for clubbing in.. go for gamblor?

OK, this dress- the blue and yellow one- costs £199- I initially misread that and almost attempted to snap myself up a bargain.. oops.
this is beautiful though.
oh, the want!

UPDATE:

okies, I did some more searching! now I think I want this..its more of a blank canvas and its crepe..
Vintage 1940s JAIS Black Crepe Dress

admit it! I'll look killer with red high heels, seamed stockings and a cut glass necklace..
yessssss
now I require someone with a paypal acct.

Norwich V peterborough @ the posh.

Traff, thomas and the security man with Norwich City's tour bus! very fancy!

Norwich and peterborough being sportsmanly. traff did start the game referring to them as tottenham- wishful thinking - premier league tickets for £10 each.

norwich in their new kit. looks remarkably like their old kit. being yellow with green sorts and all...

Traff took thomas to got his program signed- thomas got Steve morrisons signature for Traff, and Steve morrison and simeon Jackson's signatures for himself. very chuffed.

Priory marina

Traff and I went for a wander down to priory marina. we were aiming to mooch round the main lake.. as you can see we took a bit of a detour round the finger lakes...and then accidentally walked 1/2 way to sandy.
ah well, the sun was out and the views were ace!
:D
company wasnt bad either.

After the marina, we met Karl and Helen and went to see the clog dancing at the white horse.

I wore my 70's blue lace skirt and got compliments. :D

frizbee, picnic and feeding the giant fish in the park pond

spot the frizbee! ah, this looks like the summers I remember when I was in primary school- azule skys and not a cloud to ruin them!

Karl, being good at frizbee

Traff, being not so good.

The picnic with Helen, Karl and Traff- | made a massive bowl of pasta salad with peppers, choritzo and cheddar cheese. we also had party nibbles, crisps and fruit salad. food always tastes better outside!

We fed some of the leftovers and some old bread to the fish in the pond. they're huge!

traff, in his natural habitat.

DRAGONFLY!
