Valentines day

We though we would buy Swimmy McNolegs a girlfriend for valentines day so we adventured to seasons garden centre.

We ended up buying a lady friend for him, called Birdseye.
she has an eyepatch.

We also ended up with two new little fishies- we've named them uncle Bill and Aunt Edie.

We introduced them to the tank and poor swimmy didn't know what to do with himself. poor sod. he swamp up to one of the little fish and it moved- I've never seen him move so far.
he's spent the whole day avoiding Birdseye- he can just about deal with the little fishes now. just.

I made the pie and it was a massive success!
give it a go!
I boiled some potatoes in the left over stock and they were yummy as mash too!

now for films and Gin.

New bike take 2

I found a really lovely man in Long Hanborough who restores and delivers vintage bikes- with stands/baskets/bells/dynamos and anything else your heart could possibly desire!

This beauty cost me £60.

he brought me a whole van of bikes to try out and let me have a go at riding all of them which was much better than my normal gumtreeing.

(he does mens and normal bikes too- and he is genuinely lovely!)

I don't think I've ever been more chuffed with customer service or a product or a price! consider this a recommendation!

Anyone fancy going cycling when the weather is better?

I started my rag rug

I've started to make a rag rug for our bedroom floor- its a hessian sack and then you darn strips of fabric through it.

in honesty I may cut the sack down as I think this will take too long to make, but I've marked out a pattern over all of it- I'll just have to see how long my interest holes out.

the bits I've done (including the marking) took me about 2 hours.

I think I'm liking the yellow better than the purple at the moment but I'll be damned if you think I'm unpicking it!
I'll just not use any more purple.
