Karl and I went to dessert island for ice cream sundaes ( I was actually good and had sorbet but same idea!).
After pudding we walked also the embankment to soak up some more rays, and watch the fishies in the river.
Cute.

Walking with Ray
Ray and I have been exploring the local area on foot in the evenings.
We usually start of walking to manning rec, then taking one of the exits from the park and figuring out how to get home through all the alleyways and housing estates.
We found some nifty shortcuts, a corner shop, the working mens club and a massive pile of junk that includes some car doors.
We've found plenty of blackberrying sites and seen some awesome graffiti (and some awful graffiti too..).
Today we walked through a playing field off of the park.
This is where I quite often see foxes on the way home from pt. It's always empty!

Sushi
Cheese, pepper and carrot sushi!
The secret to better looking, better rolled sushi turns out to be noori size!
Supermarkets only sell.half cut sheets.
For whole sheets you have to go to the Asian supermarket.
So much easier!

Dress making
I was still in my weird headspace so I went to find Traff, who was playing fifa in the loft.
He suggested I finish one of my many unfinished projects.
Or make a blanket for Marley's box.
I went with option a as there wasn't enough fleacy material for b. (Marley will only sleep on fluffy things. So particular. The only fluffy fabric I had was white so it would have looked gross very quickly.)
The machine was ready threaded with black, so really it was the dress or nothing.
I cut the pieces out last time I was doing sewing so it was straight forward enough.
The trim was a headache as it's really thick and kept catching on the needle but it looks good now it's done!
I might add something to the neckline.. so i'm not sure it's a complete work yet but it's cute and it's ready to wear!
Banana bread
Today has been a funny day. Traff and I have both been busy, so shopping just hasn't happened.
This morning we ended up having breakfast at eds easy diner (Although, I am disappointed that they no longer sell cinnamon buns.
Then I did some work for work tomorrow. And jumped on the trampoline.
We met James and Sophie for lunch at wagamams, which was ace and then they came back for coffee and to meet marley.
It has been a lovely moochy day.
I spent my evening not knowing what to do with myself (it's really windy! Too windy to cycle and walking is actually pretty unpleasant but it's so sunny I want to be outside and i'm restless. I hate days like this as I just feel like they're wasted! Some people get sad in winter, I think I spend my summer in a state of anxiety over spending enough time outside!)
This ended in my making banana bread without scales (I forgot that Traff dropped ours).
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cups plain flour
2 bananas
2 eggs
1/4 cup icing sugar (it makes the top really crispy.. try it!)
Baked in a loaf tin for an 1 hour 20 minutes.
So, now we have banana bread and I still don't know what to do with myself!

Lacock
Our final historical visit of the week: Lacock Abbey to see Snape's Dungeon.
We also saw the stately rooms and the grounds but primarily this was a Harry Potter Adventure.
We arrived before the National Trust sp we geocached, went to the ling barn and visited the church in the village.
The church is impressive.
They advise you to photograph the ceilings so that you can see the colours and decorations.

Witcombe roman villa
Certainly one of Gloucestershires best kept secrets!
This was a complete horror to find but worth all the tiny country roads. We had lunch on the hillside looking at the view over Gloucester.
The Villa is really well preserved. I was surprised how much of it has survived.
There are also mosaics from the bath house, but they're locked away unless there's someone to supervise.
We also found a really interesting geocache so this was a good day out!
Goodrich castle
Tats and I drove out to Goodrich castle in Herefordshire.
It's actually much more impressive than the pictures can show- so much history!
And so many terrifyingly narrow flights of stairs!
