I met Tat's after work for tea and cake and a crochet project- Tats picked us out these flowers to make- they're not too tricky but they do look very cool!
I haven't done any crochet since January when I made my Snood- Poor Tats had to remind me of how to do half the stitches.

Hayley and Jay came to stay :)
I have had a lovely weekend with excellent company and an adventure. :)
Hayley and Jay arrived on Friday and had one hell of a drive- It usually takes about 3-4 hours to get from here to Cardiff, but with a conspiracy of roadworks and school/ end of the day traffic it took them almost 6. Insane!
So, we mooched about for a bit and then headed out to Nandos for dinner. I tried their portabello mushroom burger for the fist rime and it was yummy! We then went to a bar in town with a roof terrace and live band- Although we had so much catching up to do that we barely heard any of the music!
We got home about one and then stayed up chatting for ages too.
We had planned to go to Oxford on Saturday but again the roadworks got the better of us- We ended up in Kettering which was new for us all!
After a good long session of charity shop shopping in Kettering we headed to St Neots and went to the St Georges day celebrations.
We got home pretty late in the evening so we ordered our respective take aways- Hayley and I had HokuHoku, Jay had chippys and Traff had pizzas- which turned out to be buy one get one free so he had to finish that off for breakfast!
We just watched loads of louis thereux episodes all night. We were sparko!
On Sunday we went into town for sunday dinner and a look about. The weather was beautiful today so it all looks pretty idyllic!

London with Amanda
I met up with Amanda in London on Sunday- It was sooooo good to see her as it's been almost a year since we last met!
She only lives in London so theoretically we should see each other loads, but we seem to be taking it in turn to visiting Cardiff the weekends I am here she is not and vice versa.
We went to Choccywoccydodah and shared their 5 layer cake- the servings of cake are so huge there is no way anyone could finish a whole one on their own, Trust me, I am truly an expert in the art of cake eating and even I couldn't.
After cake and tea we headed to Selfridges and had a mooch around Oxford street.
Then we headed over to the east end to the spitalfields market and rough trade.
After all our walking and spending too many pennies, we went for dinner in honest burger.
:D
I would like to live in honest burger please.

Bletchley Park & The Enigma Machine
Today I met up with my Mum at Bletchley park- it's somewhere I've been meaning to visit Bletchley park since we moved here but I simply haven't had the time.
It's probably one of the most important sites in terms of WW2, Computing, Cryptography and womens' equality- although it wasn't really intentional- in the whole of the UK. Maybe the world!
The day didn't get off to the very best of starts- Traff was driving off to Cardiff so he offered me a lift to Milton Keynes but neglected to mention that it would be at 8am- I ended up in Bletchley at 8:30am with 2 hours to kill.
Knowing my love of cemeteries Traff found one to leave me in.
I had a mooch around in the sunshine and a walk around Bletchley until about 10:00, then I went and sat in the entrance of the visitor centre with a cuppa- I was asked no less than 3 times if I was OK by the very caring staff. Very embarrassing.
My mum eventually arrived- and we spent the first 30 minutes of the day drinking even more tea and putting the world to rights.
We had a really good look around the site at all of the exhibitions and buildings. I knew that the Enigma machine was German and that our cracking it's codes ended the war, but I didn't realise quite how true that was.
I didn't realise how many people were involved.
Probably because all the people involved- which was thousands- were all bound by the official secrets acts until very recently so they've never been able to discuss their work, or be rewarded or acknowledged for it.
We saw the Enigma machines and the bombe machine for cracking codes produced by it. It's huge! even the enigma machines were huge! they were designed to be "portable".
They also have some Nazi flags, equipment and books. I don't think I've ever seen any genuine Nazi artefacts before. they're so taboo.
I'm not really sure how I felt about them to be honest.
