Walking to the gym, take two

A muddier walk this week.
The path is all overgrown after the rain and it's all green and pretty.
And I saw a fox on the way home!
Definitely worth it!

Bromham mill

Lisa came back from Germany for the weekend!
Lisa's studying medical science at university in Germany, she writes pretty often but it's not the same as seeing her every Monday!
We had coffee and cake (lisa had two slices because they don't make that kind of cake at home).
It was awesome to catch up.

Paddle boarding

Face masks

Traff got us a new face pack to try!
Classy, no?

Marley, Helping.

An odd gift...

At work on Wednesday, I was presented with a rock as a gift.
Very unusual.

It's currently in use as a paper weight on my desk.

New socks!

A gift from Ray to liven up my Friday.

Carn locks

On Wednesday after work I popped over to see my parents.
We had pizza and caught up, they decided that we needed an after dinner walk.

So we went to see the longest stretch of locks in the UK.
It takes 4 hours to complete all the locks on a boat, and about 20 minutes to walk them!

Corner shop delights!

Lazy Sunday afternoon

Whilst supervising the cat, we planted some new greenery in the garden, had a bbq and trampolined!

5 hours outside and I have my traditional, bright red May sunburn.
Every year I get caught out!

I wore my green dress I made yesterday though! So I still feel accomplished. And festive now in my colour palette. Red and green...

Marley's outside adventures

We've been cat owners for 3 weeks today!
So, good news for Marley, she's allowed outside now.
We aren't sure if she's been outside before.. we assumed she had but she was so overwhelmed that we possibly assumed wrong.

She spent 3 hours on the back door mat sometimes crying for us and sometimes eating bugs.
We only intervened when she caught a wasp and part destroyed the sitting room. I think she thought she was winning that battle as she was really cross when we took the wasp away.
God knows how many stings she has.

Eventually (whilst Traff was asleep so he missed most of the excitement) she got brave and explored the garden a bit.

Not yet a big fan of outside.
I bet by next week we can't keep her in!

Sewing day!

I made two sundresses a green flowery one and one covered in a strawberry pattern.
I also cut the pieces for a black dress which I plan to edge with fancy green trim on the hem.

I bought some black corduroy with cute little pink flowers on it. I'm going to use it to make a pencil skirt.
I wanted to start with my two black projects as I could have worn them to work but I initially couldn't find my pencil skirt pattern.

A next week job!

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy a sewing project.
I'm feeling pretty accomplished.

Peanut butter cookies

1 cup of flour
3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of unsweetened peanut butter
Chocolate chips.

Boom!

The limitations of vintage bicycles

Only 4 miles on Wednesday! I had planned to go further but with only 3 speeds and all that wind I was actually blown off my bike!
The riding position makes you into a giant sail!
Roll on summer weather and less wind for more adventures.

Bank holiday bike ride!

Ray and I had planned to cycle on Sunday. But the weather sucked so we mooched around the house and watched all of 'endeavour' which is the prequel to morse.. It's pretty awesome actually.
(Next, we plan to watch all of morse, then Lewis)

We checked the weather and made a careful plan.
Rain was due (and arrived at 1) so we set off early.
11miles in total!
Lydiard house and woods, then shaw forest then mannington recreation ground.
It was nice to make the most of the day, and the sunshine.
Leaving us the afternoon to nexflix it up.

Why does it always rain on may bank holiday??
