We did the next section of the Ridgeway today!
A good day for a 17k walk and a bit sad as the power station cooling tower get demolished tomorrow! Last chance for a photo!

London- Regents canal walk, Camden lunch, the sunset express & Pullman dining & the guards museum
This is a very looong story. My Nan sent my Aunt a newspaper cutting in February about a steam train doing a round trip from London Waterloo to the Surrey hills and back again.
My aunt took the hint and sent my Nan the birthday money for a ticket.
Apparently she missed the bigger hint that was that she would like someone to go with. So my Nan complained to my Mum, and somehow it was arranged that instead of taking her away to the seaside we would stay overnight in London and go on the train.
My mum Booked the tickets through their website which isn't all that user friendly. And complained afterwards that my aunt hadn't sent enough money for my Nan to buy a ticket.
It turns out that rather than a standard ticket she'd managed to book Pullman dining.
So we went up to London before the train trip and knowing we'd be sat down on another train took the opportunity for a walk along the canal from kitty Venice behind Paddington station to Camden.
We got lunch in Camden and ate in the park by the overground line.
We met my Nan at the hotel and then dressed for dinner.
The train was very impressive. The food was very "weddings" it was really nice but definitely catered to those over a certain age...
The views were really impressive. I'm pleased we took the trip but I was almost nodding off by the time we got back!
The next day we went to see my Grandad's medals in the guards museum and visit the guards chapel.
The weather wasn't on our side and we all ended up heading home earlier than planned!

Art club
Today at art club I made a breadboard with pyrography decoration.
I'm pretty proud of it tbh!
We also did proper glass etching, and I made a little vase with a wonky mandala on it which I am less proud of.
We did some marble painting too.
I've had a bit of a day today rushing about to a pointless but stressful hospital appointment. I was supposed to be "agile working" but couldn't get enough signal. It was a bit of a headache. It's fine because I can make the time up tomorrow, but still really annoying.
Art club was just what I needed, and I met some new colleagues too who attended so that's a bonus.

Tat's staying Day 2- Cirencester
Today we went to see the Roman amphitheatre in Cirencester. It's interesting, but after Sicily I was expecting so much more!
We had tea and cake in town and then went to the museum.
They had a really interesting Anglo Saxon burial exhibition as well as all the Roman stuff.
Definitely worth a visit!

Why haven't you updated this in over a month??
Ok, I don't really have a good excuse for being so bad at this.
I've done so much stuff in the last month- plenty of paddle boarding and running and national trusting.
I think I was feeling like this activity was/is pretty futile. I get 4 hits per post and I suspect that this social media platform may be obsolete.
This is exacerbated by the lack of an app to use to update my blog.
I am now feeling guilty about not keeping it up to date as it's been something I've done since 2011.
Too long to just bin it off, so I'll give it another go.

Home improvement - chicken prep!
Today Traff took the shed down to make room for a chicken coop and chickens!
We won't get them until next year when everything is sorted but it's still awfully exciting!

Tat's staying Day 1- Stourhead, Lacock & Bibimbap
Today has been fairly epic, even by our usual standards.
We only meet up a few times a year now so we always have to fit in loads!
We drove to Stourhead this morning, and spent a few hours exploring.
Then we went on to lacock for tea and cake.
And in the evening we made bibimbap for the first time!
It went pretty well actually.
